We as Designer Outlet Soltau are aware of our responsibility and care about our planet and people.

BREEAM environmental certificate

Designer Outlet Soltau was built in 2012 in compliance with BREEAM standards for sustainable building management and was one of the first outlet centers to be certified with a "good" rating.

What is BREEAM?
The British BREEAM certificate is a benchmark for assessing the environmental impact of a property in terms of: Building materials, solar energy, waste management, rainwater utilization, sustainable management, site accessibility, bike lanes, electric vehicle charging stations.

In 2021, we also introduced a flexible open door policy to encourage employees to actively control temperatures in their stores. The use of heating/cooling systems should thus be minimized.

Green energy and LED lighting

Our outlet center is heated by a combined heat and power system that runs on biogas. A natural, non-fossil resource produced by local farmers.

To improve our energy efficiency, we are converting all lighting in the center to LED in 2023. The parking lot as well as the advertising materials are already illuminated 100% with LED.

We encourage e-mobility

In 2022, together with TESLA, we opened a charging station with 20 TESLA Superchargers, open to all car brands. In this way, we encourage our customers to use climate-friendly vehicles. An e-charging station from the Soltau municipal utility company is also available.

Reduce water consumption

Our green spaces were converted from seasonal planting to year-round shrubs in 2022. Underground irrigation helps save water and optimizes water distribution.

Our cleaning companies are also encouraged to save water. They use only environmentally friendly, certified cleaning agents.

A heart for bees and insects

All lighting in the center is equipped with insect-friendly bulbs. We also ensure that seasonal decorations are planted in a bee-friendly manner.

Sustainable waste management

In close cooperation with the supply and disposal companies involved, we ensure that waste is sensibly pre-separated into individual recyclable material groups.

Doing good locally

Through sponsorship, we support local sports clubs or events, helping to ensure and develop local activities.

As part of events, we regularly cooperate with social institutions that support children, hospices, medical care as well as people in need. Our goal is to provide optimal support and regular donations to the relevant organizations.

We are barrier free

We have been designated a barrier-free center since 2022. This has high priority in the implementation of structural measures.

We also provide separate rooms for families to change diapers and breastfeed their children.

Sustainable offers

Sustainable products that are made from organic cotton, for example, or belong to an environmentally conscious collection of the brand, are marked with a green "Nachhaltig" label on our German offers page. In this way, we create more transparency for you as our customers.
